    Many firms try to turn all lawyers into “rainmakers”, but not everyone should be one. Lawyers want to grow their practices but lack clarity on positioning, focus, and what to prioritise day to day.

    The workshop

    The growth programme is a structured development journey for lawyers who want to grow with intent.

    It starts with self-awareness and builds towards clear positioning, focus, and practical action. The aim is not to turn every participant into a rainmaker, but to help each lawyer understand how they can contribute to growth in a way that is authentic, effective, and sustainable.

    The programme follows the principles described in the published book Beyond billable hours. These principles are grounded in real experience from working inside and alongside law firms, and focus on building growth that is intentional, commercially grounded, and aligned with how law firms actually operate.

    Every programme begins with a Hogan assessment, facilitated by an accredited Hogan practitioner. This creates a strong foundation by helping participants understand their natural strengths, behaviours under pressure, and core drivers. These insights are used throughout the programme to connect personal behaviour to business development, client relationships, and long-term growth decisions.

    From there, the programme focuses on defining a clear north star, sharpening individual or practice-level value propositions, and translating ambition into practical, repeatable growth actions.
